Every Saturday all the Chawerim assemble at 2.30pm at the ken, where they spend more or less three and a half hours together. First there are the Peulot, which are held in the Kwutzot (age-groups). In the Peulot the Chanichim discuss about current or/and ideological Topics. In the end of the Peulot, each Kwutza eats Kumsitz (a little snack). At 4pm everybody meets in the assembly hall for the Mifkad (roll call). After the Mifkad the Erev Ken starts, where important Topics are brought to the Chanichim in a playful way. Mostly, in the end there is half an hour of Shirim (singing) or Rikudei’am (Israeli folk dance). At 6pm the activity finishes for the Chanichim; the Bogrim often have a Peula after the Erev Ken.

During a Shomer year a lot of events are done by the Ken Zurich.

Some of the biggest events are our machanot. A machane (camp) always has a Topic, to which the different programmes are organised. The two-week Machane Kaitz (summer camp) takes place only every other year, because biennial there is a five-week Machane Israel (Israel journey) for the Bogrim. In autumn the Machane lasts five days and in winter 10 days. 

In spring the Madrichim organise a Tijul Soziali for their Kwutza. The Tijul Soziali is a weekend, where every Kwutza prepares a social project.

In the early summer the Jom Tnua takes place, a camping weekend in honour of the birthday of our Ken, in which Zofiut is a high priority.

During the warmer season the activities are as often as possible held outside, where you can play games and where we are connected to the nature. In the Machane Kaitz that is the everyday life.

To our annual events for sure the celebrating of several Jewish holidays belongs aswell: at the jewish new year (Rosh Hashanah) we meet in the synagogue, where we offer the traditional “apple and honey” after the service.

At Purim everybody dresses up and we have a funny Purim-party!

At Chanukah there is a huge Messiba together with the parents, relatives and friends, where we light together the candles and when the Chanichim present their creative productions.
